A piano savant, a rock-n-roll veteran, and a lifetime entertainer.

Jim Steinworth was a piano savant from the start. He began playing at age four on the upright in his dad's after-hours basement bar, and by the time he was eleven years old he was playing the organ at his church every Sunday morning. Music wasn't a hobby — it was who he was.
Jim has been a full-time musician his entire life. He got his start in the Twin Cities rock scene with Barry Goldberg and the B-57, right in the thick of the era when Prince was coming up. When Prince and Warner Brothers ended up taking their drummer, Jim had a front-row seat to the explosion of the Minneapolis sound. He's lived and breathed this city's music history.
From there, Jim spent decades in the dueling pianos world — first with the Grand Cats Dueling Pianos starting in 1990, which later became the River Rats Dueling Pianos, the longest-running dueling piano act in the Twin Cities. Thousands of shows, tens of thousands of song requests, and a reputation for packing every room he plays.
Now Jim is doing what he loves most — solo gigs where it's just him, a keyboard, and a crowd that wants to have a good time. Bars, clubs, private parties, corporate events, weddings — he shows up, sets up, and gives your people a night they'll remember. Request-driven, interactive, high-energy, and always a blast.
Jim keeps it simple. He brings a keyboard and himself — that's all you need. No complicated stage setup, no huge production crew. Whether it's a Friday night at your bar, a birthday party in your backyard, or a corporate event downtown, Jim fits the space and fits your budget. He tailors every set to the room and the crowd.
